While portaging a nasty rapid on the Bajo Misahualli we found this incredible butterfly! The colors of the butterflies here down in the Amazon are so incredibly vibrant!!!

Looking back upstream at the portage rapid! This is an amazing jungle big water adventure! Super fun class IV rapids filled with huge waves and gigantic holes.
On the Misahualli waterfalls and amazing green jungle forest abound around every corner.
Hanging out at a swimming area just above the put in for the Middle Jondachi run. Crystal clear cool water, smooth granite rocks, and families swimming kept me company all day!
Kayaked along with a rafting trip on the Cañon section of the Quijos river near Baeza. Fun to see what the industry is like out here and to get to explore a new river and learn about the specific issues in this area which include water contamination and deforestation.
Amazing jungle flowers are sometimes hard to find deep within the all consuming green of the forest.
My new companion in the hostal! Its not everyday you get to spend time hanging out with spiders the size of your palm :)
